Peter Smart, Wildlife Photographer and Tour Leader

Peter Smart has been a keen and successful photographer all his life and enjoys travelling around the world, with a particular affinity for Africa. He turned professional in 2002 to pursue his passion for capturing images of wildlife and the natural world.

Peter jointly established Wild Arena Limited  which provides a range of events and trips ‘tailor made’ for those people who are interested in Wildlife and Photography. With over 25 years experience in the world of photography and wildlife, Wild Arena offers a range of events across the UK, Europe and Worldwide that provide the very highest standards of opportunities and experiences for their clients.Wild Arena's simple aim is to use its extensive experience and knowledge to expand clients’ enjoyment of photography and the natural world.

Peter provides photographic guidance on many of Wild Arena's workshops and tours in the UK., as well as offering one-to-one tuition. He established and manages Wild Arena's overseas tour programme and now escorts around 12 tours a year on behalf of Wild Arena to a variety of countries including Kenya, Tanzania, Botswana, Rwanda, India, Spitsbergen, Borneo and the Galapagos Islands.

Peter regards it as a genuine privilege to introduce people to the wildlife, landscapes and people of the countries he visits. His knowledge, organisational skills and sense of fun ensures that not only do his groups have excellent photographic and game-viewing opportunities, but also have an enjoyable holiday!
